  I was there 25 minutes before they closed to do a simple name change. The line was cut off 10 minutes before I arrived and they wouldn't help me. I'm sorry, but if you are going to cut off lines, close at 4:30, not at 5. No where does it say that you have to be there by a certain time to be helped. I took off work to get here and the employees suggestion was to "make an appointment".... more time missed from work because places make up rules that aren't clearly posted somewhere. Ridiculous.

  ERWIN DMV has only one person, twice I visited. Woman was pleasant to me. But, she was a little short with impatient people. There were 12 people waiting @ 11:50AM. Most knew only One Single Person worked @ Erwin office, most days.They expected to be taken care of during "Lunch Period". Suggest those people arrive @ 9:00AM. It would make waiting easier. Don't forget....she is a person entitled to her Lunch period at proper time too! Vic Mitsuno

  Let's face it, a trip to DMV for any reason is rarely pleasant. However, I made numerous attempts to get my daughter's license at three different DMV offices, drove an hour one way on two different days. Yes, this office does seem short staffed sometimes, but I have learned it's because employees are pulled out to cover other offices. We gave up on getting the license on the all important 16th birthday, and made an appointment for the next day. The DMV officer saw us very soon after our appointment time. She was pleased to see all paperwork was completed, I got the impression this rarely occurs. If people would just search online and complete the required forms, they could ensure they arrive with correct documentation. This makes things faster for DMV employees, for customers and for the throng that is in the waiting area. We were treated very pleasantly and assisted in a very efficient manner. Let's face it, we all have a bad day sometimes and get a little cranky. Some of us are better at hiding that than others. Do your research, make an appointment. Be proactive. This will enhance your DMV experience and that of others around you.
